The Partners for Rural Innovation Center is an 11,000 square-foot multi-use facility that will house OSU Extension, TBCC’s Agriculture and Natural Resources degree program, the Small Business Development Center, Tillamook County Economic Development Center and the Visit Tillamook Coast tourism team.

Located on Third Street, across from the Tillamook County Fairgrounds, the Partners For Rural Innovation Center will open February 2017. It will be a central learning center for Tillamook County residents from 4-H youth, community college students, small business owners to senior citizens and a hub for business and economic development, impacting thousands of individuals of all ages and levels of education as well as businesses and entrepreneurs through services, learning and training opportunities that will be offered at the new facility.

The Partners for Rural Innovation Center will help small businesses in Tillamook County thrive by fostering a more deliberate team effort between the Small Business Development Center and OSU Extension. Businesses owners who are seeking technical advice and assistance with growth opportunities, and help with agronomic and production practices will be able to and answers and support in one spot.

Central to serving citizens will be a large classroom space for students in 4-H youth programs, community education, and post-secondary learning. Additionally, the space will serve as a community convening space for after-hours activities. The building will host an extended hours computer lab for those taking online courses.

This $5 million dollar project is already 96 percent funded, thanks to a matching bond from the legislature, a variety of grants, and local community donations. There is only $200,000 left to raise. The first major gift towards the Partners building was made by Tillamook County resident Helen Gienger. Other major donations include the Riggert Family Foundation and the Tillamook County Creamery Association, as well as grants from the CHS Foundation, Meyer Memorial Trust, Oregon Community Foundation, Spirit Mountain Charitable Community Fund, Ford Family Foundation, and the Reser Family Foundation.
