The 2016-17 Academic Year at Tillamook Bay Community College (TBCC) was one of transitions. President Dr. Connie Green retired in May 2017 after serving TBCC and the community for seven years. During her time leading the college we achieved independent accreditation, built new career-technical programs, and implemented many new processes to improve student success and college efficiency. Her service to our community is too numerous to detail.

On May 1, I took over from Dr. Green as the sixth President of the college. With the college on solid footing and moving in the right direction, my initial goals are to build upon on the successes at TBCC with continued improvement and innovations. This Annual Report details the highlights of the past year, work we are doing today, and lays out plans for future innovations and success.

After being at the college for a year now, first as the college’s vice president and now as president, I am so impressed with how well people work together to improve the individual communities and help those in need from north to south in Tillamook County. I am very proud to be part of Tillamook County and Tillamook Bay Community College, and thank everyone for their continued support of the college. This is a special place, and the college will continue to serve this county and help our students succeed and achieve their educational goals.

It the next few pages, you will hear about our strategic vision and our pledge to the community. We are committed to continuing to listen to you, to learn what college services and programs are needed and wanted, and to continue providing high quality higher education programs, community education classes, and customized training opportunities for companies and industries.

Please enjoy reading this annual report about what is happening at the college and what is planned for this coming year, and do let us know your thoughts and ideas. We want to be the best college we can be.

Ross Tomlin, Ed.D.
President, Tillamook Bay Community College
