Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

Financial Aid SAP will be determined for all applicants prior to being awarded financial aid and will be based on previous academic history at TBCC regardless of whether or not financial aid was received. Satisfactory Academic Progress will be reviewed after grades are posted at the end of each term.

Good Standing:

  • Maintaining a cumulative grade point average of a 2.0 or higher
  • Successful completion of two-thirds of attempted credits each term
  • Ability to complete declared degree or certificate within 150% maximum time frame limit
  • Financial Aid Impact: Financial aid eligible

Warning:

  • Student’s cumulative GPA dropped below 2.0, and/or did not complete two-thirds of all attempted credits in a term, and student is able to graduate within 150% maximum time frame limit.
  • Financial Aid Impact: Financial aid eligible

Suspension:

  • Student did not meet SAP standards while in Warning or Probation status, or it is determined that the student will not be able to graduate within 150% maximum time frame limit, or a student in Financial Aid Academic Plan status fails to follow the plan. Students with a 0.0 GPA  in a given term will be ineligible for financial aid the next term he/she is enrolled.
  • Financial Aid Impact: Not eligible to receive financial aid and may require repayment of financial aid funds.
