portrait of CDL instructor Buzz Wilcox
Buzz Wilcox, Instructor Tillamook

Buzz, Oregon born and raised, has over 40 years of driving experience, including owning his own trucking company. 25 of those years have included training employees for their CDL. He strives to make learning a fun and enjoyable experience with emphasis on safety and security. When not training up the next generation of truck drivers, Buzz spends his time fishing, snowmobiling, and camping.

Buzz shares that, "Life is good; experience and enjoy!"

Bret Rivenes, Instructor Tillamook

Bret is from the great state of Montana. He brings over twenty-five years of truck driving experience to the program, twenty of which were in the military. His favorite part about teaching is the 'hands-on' driving portion. When he is not training our CDL Program students, he enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities, especially taking walks on the beach with his wife.

Bret's words to live by are, "Do the best you can do and all will come."

James Crowe, Instructor Astoria

James grew up in Northern California and moved to Portland in 1996. In his 40+ years in trucking, he traveled in all of the lower 48 states as well as Canada and Alaska, covering about 4 million miles. He previously taught for a year at a truck driving school in Portland. He enjoys passing what he has learned on to a new generation of drivers. For him, trucking was all about the adventure; he likes to travel and this industry offers a chance to see the country. In his spare time, he enjoys the river where he lives in Astoria.

His advice to students, "Nothing good happens fast in a truck!"
