Connect2Complete Academic Engagement Specialist (AmeriCorps Member Position)

The Connect2Complete AmeriCorps Member (also referred to as Academic Engagement Specialist) will serve at Tillamook Bay Community College for the 2017- 2018 program year. The primary function will be to engage students in academic interventions with a focus on service-learning through the roles of mentorship and projector coordinator to increase attendance and student engagement. This person will assist ASTBCC and PTK to engage more students at the high school and college level in educational and community service- learning projects. Connect2Complete AmeriCorps members will report to Campus Compact of Oregon’s AmeriCorps Program Manager and placement site supervisors. All members must complete 1700 hours of service within one year of enrollment in the C2C program.

Human Resources Support Specialist

Tillamook Bay Community College (TBCC) is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and highly skilled candidate to serve as a Human Resources Support Specialist and to work in conjunction with and support of the College’s mission: to provide access to quality education in response to the needs of the community.

The responsibilities of this position include providing support to the overall human resource processes at the college.  This would include the maintenance of current, accurate personnel records along with the transfer and data entry for new hires and employee changes.  Other responsibilities include assisting in the recordkeeping associated with in-house training and professional development programs.  This position will also assist with electronic archiving and storage of documents from various departments within the College.

Part-time Library Assistant

Tillamook Bay Community College (TBCC) is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and highly skilled candidate to serve as Part-time Library Assistant and to work in conjunction with and support of the College’s mission: to provide access to quality education in response to the needs of the community.

Responsible for circulation duties; shelving materials; shelf reading; assisting students with using databases, the OPAC, and finding materials; and assisting the librarian with administration of the college’s tutoring program.

Adjunct Faculty Positions

Immediate Openings for Fall Teaching:

(September 25 – December 9)

  • Manufacturing and Industrial Technology (MIT) program:

Introductory Machining Class (evenings): Experienced machinist needed for hands-on instruction using a manual mill and lathe.

  • College Readiness Classes:

Adult Basic Education and GED Completion: Experience teaching adult learners using individualized instruction to prepare students for job success and/or college studies

Introductory Algebra:  Introductory math classes to build skills for success in College Algebra (transfer degree requirement)

  • Foreign Language:

First Year Spanish: Three quarter sequence using active speaking and immersion techniques

Ongoing Needs (Master’s degree in discipline required):

  • Astronomy
  • Chemistry (preferably Green Chemistry)
  • Earthquakes and Plate Tectonics
  • Environmental Science
  • Geology

  • Oceanography (Marine Science focus)
