Online Bookstore and Open Educational Resources

At Tillamook Bay Community College, we want to make sure you continuously receive the best in education. To help us deliver on this goal, we work closely with our textbook partner, MBS Direct, to guarantee that you have the correct course materials. MBS Direct was carefully selected to deliver the best value and to ensure peace of mind because course materials are specific to your class schedule, with no hidden costs.

TBCC has an online bookstore through MBS Direct

  • Books can be purchased online 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Textbooks are available for sale or rent in a variety of formats.
  • Students may use their approved TBCC financial aid to purchase books.
  • Purchases are shipped directly to the student.
  • Multiple payment options
  • 100% return policy. Course materials must be returned within two weeks after class start date or within 21 days of date shipped, whichever is later.
  • Customer service is available 24/7 at (800) 325-3252 or visit the Online Bookstore Help Center.

Open Educational Resources (OER)

Many of TBCC’s online and hybrid classes utilize OER’s, saving students hundreds of dollars that would otherwise be spent on textbooks. If you see the OER symbol listed in the Schedule of Classes that means the instructor is using these resources instead of requiring a text book. For information on the OER required for your class select the OER Resources button above and search for your class or contact your instructor.

How do I receive a voucher?

Students may use their approved TBCC financial aid or third party authorization to purchase or rent books online through the online bookstore.

Financial Aid: You need to be registered and have financial aid funds available on your account. When you accept your Financial Aid award online, you must click yes when answering the question regarding charging books and supplies against your financial aid. Books purchased online with book vouchers become part of your student account balance. You are responsible for any amount not covered by your financial aid funds.

For scholarships or third party billing: The TBCC Business Office will issue a book voucher once you are registered and an authorization from the scholarship or third party is received. Watch the video or click Third Party Authorization Info for information regarding submitting third-party authorizations.

If you have not received a book voucher and you believe you should have received one contact the Business Office at paymentinformation@tillamookbaycc.edu.

How do I use a book voucher?

Once the book voucher is available, you will receive an email to your TBCC email address from MBSDirect (TBCC’s online bookstore) with your book voucher code.
