Resource Navigator Available to Help Students Apply for Benefits

TBCC has added a new position in Student Services to help assist students in applying for available local, state, and federal benefits and resources.

The Resource Navigator will be available to help refer students to additional internal and external resources to support them in a variety of ways including food insecurity, housing, childcare, healthcare and more.

The Resource Navigator will assist students in assessing and addressing their specific barriers to accessing education and employment opportunities.

“Many students don’t know about all of the benefits and resources that are available to them,” said Rhoda Hanson, Vice President of Student Services. “Our new Resource Navigator will connect students to local, state, and federal resources, walking them through the application process and ensuring they maximize all available benefits so they can persist and complete their college education.”

To contact the new Resources Navigator, Angelica Ortiz, email
angelicaortiz@tillamookbaycc.edu or stop by the Student Services window. You can also call Angelica at 503.842.8222 ext. 1170.

Angelica is fluent in both English and Spanish.
