Manufacturing & Industrial Technology

Do you like working with your hands? Do mechanical systems intrigue you? Do you like the idea of working in an industry that produces products that keep the world moving?

Skilled workers such as machine operators, welders, and maintenance technicians are in high demand in Oregon and across the United States. The Manufacturing and Industrial Technology, Welding, and Agricultural Technology programs combine traditional skills like welding, machining, and fluid power with concepts like lean manufacturing, PLC programming, and green technology. This field is hands-on and requires a knowledge of processes, the ability to trouble shoot, and a dedication to quality in workmanship. If you have an interest in a hands-on career and working with manufacturing and industrial systems, then this program may be a good fit for you.

Ron Carlbom

“Some people can weld, but those with blueprint and fabrication techniques can become a leader in a shop. They have the potential to move into a foreman role or even start their own business. Both the welding degree and certificate offer courses that will help a student to do more than just weld. I want students to have a good base knowledge to avoid pitfalls. I want to share with them everything I know. I think about what industry experience I have that I can I share with students to help them in the future to troubleshoot what is in front of them.”
