Scholarship Options for TBCC Students
Scholarships are a great way to help fund your college education. A scholarship is free aid given to a student to help pay tuition and complete their educational goals. Scholarships are different from financial aid. You fill out a separate application and your application is reviewed based on your answers to general questions and the written essays you provide.
Each scholarship is unique – just like you. Some may cover tuition, while others may cover fees, books, living expenses and even childcare. Some are based on financial need, while other are based on merit. Scholarships come from donors. Donors come from different backgrounds, so they give money for different reasons.

“I want to be able to have a better job; I don’t want to be a minimum wage employee all my life. I want to give my family a better life, especially for my kids.”
TBCC Foundation Scholarships
All current students and new students planning to attend TBCC are eligible to apply. There is over $100,000 available in scholarship dollars available to award annually with over 50 opportunities for students. TBCC Foundation scholarships use an online application. You fill out the online application and it will assess which opportunities you qualify for and automatically put you in the pool of applicants.
- Spring Scholarship Cycle – March thru May
- Fall Scholarship Cycle – July thru August
Who can apply
Any student who plans to attend TBCC can apply for a Foundation scholarship. We have scholarships for students of all ages, backgrounds, and majors! All Foundation scholarships are open to anyone regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, age, sexual orientation or any other status protected by federal, state or local law in any area, activity or operation of the college.
Start Planning
Before you apply, think about what you plan to study and the educational plan you will need to get there. There are three things you need to know about yourself before you can complete a winning scholarship application:
- What is your career goal and your educational plan to reach it?
- What experiences in life have motivated you to reach your goal?
- How do you give back to your community? Do you volunteer in the community, the K-12 schools, or other? How do you lend a helping hand to others?
